Sadhana means a practice of self discipline which expresses the infinite side of us. It’s a daily time for understanding the patterns that keep us away from our most elevated consciousness and transcending them, anchor daily to our true essence, preparation for the day ahead and wipe out things of the day that has passed.
The 108 scriptures of yoga, called Kundalini Upanishads, advise that one should practice at least two and a half hours of sadhana before sunrise. This is known as Dasvandh, 1/10 of one´s day, and according to the Uupanishads, will give you back ten times more.
Our morning sádhana, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, includes:
- Recitation of Jap Ji Sahib – 25 mns;
- A yoga kriya – 45 mns;
- Relaxation – 10 mns;
- Meditation with mantras – 62 mns;
